Dealer notes

1997 BMW M3 Coupe - 142,970 Miles Finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over a black leather interior with dark cabin trim, this M3 Coupe brings together a naturally aspirated inline-six, a 5-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel drive. For an enthusiast who enjoys choosing each gear, that combination provides a direct connection to the engine and chassis in a compact two-door BMW. Power comes from a 3.2L DOHC 24-valve inline-six with variable valve timing, paired with a 5-speed ZF manual transmission. A limited-slip differential helps distribute power at the rear wheels, while M sports suspension calibration, strut-type front suspension, multi-link rear suspension and front and rear stabilizer bars support the car's handling. Engine-speed-sensitive power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering and ventilated four-wheel disc brakes with ABS complete the driving hardware. Inside, the cabin features bolstered front sport seats, automatic climate control, power windows, power door locks and split-folding rear seats. A manual shift lever and traditional analog instruments keep the driving controls straightforward, while the rear seating and folding seatbacks add useful flexibility beyond a dedicated two-seat sports car. With its inline-six engine, manual gearbox, rear-wheel drive and limited-slip differential, this E36 M3 offers the core mechanical features enthusiasts seek in a classic BMW sport coupe.
